SALIENT STILLS STRENGHTENS SUPPORT FOR VIDEO FORENICS IN EUROPE WITH NEW REGIONAL SALES MANAGER JEAN-PHILIPPE FORTIER
BOSTON, October 18, 2010 - Salient Stills, the leader in video forensics and image enhancement, today announced the addition of Jean-Philippe Fortier as Regional Sales Manager for Europe. In this position, Fortier will manage sales of Salient Stills' VideoFOCUS PRO video forensics systems to European law enforcement and government security agencies processing crime scene and surveillance videos.
"As in the United States, European law enforcement agencies can often speed investigations by utilizing crime scene and surveillance video. Unfortunately, many times these videos are of poor quality, and require technical processing skills, creating a backlog at larger agencies that help their smaller counterparts," said Laura Teodosio, president and CEO of Salient Stills. "Jean-Philippe's security industry experience ensures he can help investigators apply video forensics technology to investigations, and reduce video processing backlogs by arming investigators with VideoFOCUS Pro. While sales in Europe have been strong, we expect Jean-Philippe's local presence will generate even more revenues there."
Prior to joining Salient Stills, Fortier was a Country Manager for Optenet, a provider of SaaS and on-premise IT security systems. He was also a Business Development Manager for Agnitio, a leading provider of voice biometrics solutions for security, police, and intelligence agency forensic investigations. The Canadian born Fortier has worked extensively in Europe, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand, specializing in security systems sales and support to large enterprises, and law enforcement and government agencies.
"Given the number of security cameras in place throughout Europe, the amount of video generated, and the number of videos that investigators need to process, demand is high for video forensics systems. Salient Stills' VideoFOCUS Pro matches this demand, particularly given its ease of use - field investigators have an all in one tool to extract video, convert it to popular formats for easy playback, and isolate and generate clearer still images," said Fortier. "There is already a high level of interest in VideoFOCUS Pro and I look forward to helping investigators apply the technology to more quickly advance investigations."
Using innovative processing algorithms, VideoFOCUS Pro is the leading video forensics tool for law enforcement. In a single application, VideoFOCUS Pro encompasses what can otherwise require multiple video capture and processing applications.
